- Construction of a SOMPD Community Resource Center which will provide the project’s target youth population with structured career development information, skills and opportunities to get jobs, start own businesses or transition into higher education.
- Mobilization of local farmers into Adoption of climate smart Agriculture and production of drought resistant crops.
- Establishment of permaculture and ecological farming demonstration plots for exchange learning.
- Establishment of a community microfinance institution i.e. a Community Bank that will facilitate savings and loaning to poor people of the community.
- Establishment of a psycho-social and recovery training centre for victims and survivors of the tragedy.
- Invest in relevant vocational training skills
- Mobilize resources from private sector, international NGOs and diaspora/individual donors
- Enhance the social welfare program
