The Somali Peace and Development Organization (SOMPAD), which was established in 2020, is a woman-led, legally recognized, and dynamic non-governmental organization. Somalia’s protracted war has been experienced for the past 3 decades and Communities lost members and properties in the process.

The goal of SOMPAD is to uphold human rights, particularly those related to development, peace, and humanitarian aid among Somali communities, as well as healthy cultural customs, lobbying with a range of partners and stakeholders, including the government and security agencies such as the police, army, and other civil society organizations.
